Fundamentals of Body pH
Our bodies are amazingly resilient considering the years of self-inflicted punishment by way of dietary excess coupled with nutritional deficiencies. But eventually the majority of people suffer the consequences of long-term, whole-body pH imbalance, that is all the common chronic diseases. Our bodies thrive in a slightly alkaline cell environment but the majority of us eat mostly acid forming food. If the fluid inside our cells is at the right pH (7.2 to 7.4) we get optimal energy metabolism, immune function, nutrient up-take, free-radical protection of cell membranes plus good mood and sense of well-being. All systems operate in balance including hormones and bone metabolism.
Consuming a diet rich in plant-based food makes it a lot easier to maintain a normal pH, especially if green juice extractions and superfood smoothies are consumed regularly. Other key factors that use up our mineral reserve quickly, are dental infections from root canals, crowns, fillings and implants along with infections on the mucosal membrane particularly in the digestive tract. To make it easier for people to move pH to the normal, slightly alkaline range of 7.2 to 7.4 measured of urine and saliva, all day, every day, every week, every month… we have a product called pH Salts used in water several times daily. Most people use about a 1 teaspoon daily to reach and maintain an alkaline whole-body state.
Soda drinks are extremely acidic. It takes 30 glasses of water to neutralize the acid of one 10oz can of soda.
Enzyme foods have the most energy
It all comes down to eating food that gives you the most energy gained, compared the amount of energy required to digest it. Cooked animal protein is the most difficult to digest, especially as we age. Cooked oils damage cell membranes, create immune stress, thickens blood, slows liver metabolism and interferes with hormone balance. Consuming cooked oils exacerbates diabetes, skin problems and wreaks havoc with blood. The older we get, the more important it is to supplement with digestive enzymes, especially when eating cooked food and heated oils.
When you think of a snack or a meal, consider if it has enzymes… fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, legumes, power-smoothies, live-juice extractions, salads and crazy deserts with nut-creme, delicious high-fiber breakfasts and so many delicious things to eat. ***** Cooking destroys enzymes. Microwaved food is no longer “food.”
Life is an enzyme process. Without enzymes all physiological systems eventually stop.
An ideal diet is one that naturally keeps our pH alkaline, rich in green and high pigment foods like beets, so that we create an alkaline cell environment, without having to compensate with supplements. But the reality of our fast-paced lifestyles means that we may need to supplement with minerals like our pH Salts to hold pH in the normal range of 7.2 to 7.4 measured of urine and saliva. We have pH Paper for easy testing.
